Technology Makes Possible Supplemental Retirement Income? Yes!

Social Security, Pension, Part-time Job, Full Time Job, Investment Income?

Let me see, I do not have much of a 401-k, my SEP is small, I have a very small investment portfolio, no pension, and Social Security may not be here, I have small children who I would like to go to college, so it looks like I am going to need to continue working right on through my "golden years". The financial analysts advocating for a traditional retirement model have absolutely nothing to offer me. There is no way for me to save the requisite $2,000,000.00 so that I can live at my current level of income without using principal.

And I do not think I am alone in needing to create an original approach to retirement income. Luckily for me technology allows for massive innovation at the household level.

Side Bar: I wonder, is it possible to build a community of people building an online business, supporting and guiding each other?

On the plus side, my new house has already appreciated $5000.00 and we will build equity in it as we go, and I have a career which I can continue doing until no one comes anymore, so the cash flow will be good.

While both my wife and I have fulfilling and challenging careers, we are mid-life career changers, and we started a family late, and we just bought a new house.

I am 59 and will need to continue working to provide for my children until I get them well on the way to college, which is ok with me.

I am very healthy, and work at taking care of my health, through supplementation, work outs, Chi Gong, Heart Math, and challenging work, among other tools.

Not only do I get to work with people in difficult places in their lives, I am learning how to build an online business, this web site, which includes a number of affiliate income programs, and I will be teaching the SBI action guide at Rock Valley College in September.

The folks who buy subscriptions to the Rock Valley class will generate a commission to me which gets paid annually, and any folks who purchase subscriptions from my students will generate second level commissions to me also. There are a number of us who are going to be instructors at institutions around the world fall, including Amy Dykens at Graceland College in Iowa. I include Amy because her website is about beaches, and she sells going-to-the-beach stuff from Iowa. There are no great beaches in Iowa, but that doesn't matter. Amy can make an income from Iowa because people go to her website for information, not the actual beach.

That business works while I am asleep, or seeing other counseling clients, or attending my son's flag football game.

A computer allows me to enter into the global marketplace as a very small operator as long as I provide information which helps people solve problems.

Those website builders are at several stages of life, but this is really an excellent retirement tool for supplemental retirement income.

So if you are singing the No-Income-For-Retirement-Blues, take a look at building an online business.

(Do not let unfamiliarity with technology stop you. I did not know how to use a computer until about 10 years ago, and actually I am very ignorant of hardware issues, and have only a mediocre familiarity with the software, and it still works).

If you are limited in mobility, or are a Work-at-Home-Mom (WAHM), or a Stay-at-Home-Dad (SAHD), or like Ken Evoy's 19 year old daughter, curious about an online business, or a grand-parent raising grandchildren, then I think an online business is great for you.

There are as many ways to make online income as there are folks. I am developing primarily an affiliate income model, but my coach is advocating for a membership site, and he wants me to look at writing my own e-book too.

What I really want you to know is that this is an exciting process. Just the learning is amazing, and then to get checks too is amazing.
